Easter Events Preview by Ebuyer.com

Easter Events Preview by Ebuyer.com

Easter is nearly upon us and that can only mean one thing in the UK CS world.. It's Insomnia Gaming Festival time! Although for us here at FM, we'll be represented at another of our favourite events over the Easter bank holiday, Copenhagen Games!

To kick off our preview we'll start with the male CS:GO team who will be competing at the Birmingham NEC for both the UK Masters and Insomnia60 CS:GO tournaments with the aim to retaining both of the titles we won at Insomnia59 in December. Up first on the Friday, we'll have the UK Masters Grand Final which will be run in a Best of 5 format with a 1 map advantage to use after coming from the upper bracket, meaning we only need to win 2 of potential 4 maps to take the title. This will be streamed live on the UK Masters Twitch Channel from 7PM BST (8PM CEST). The weekend doesn't end there though, with the Insomnia60 CS:GO Open carrying on throughout the weekend, we'll join the action at the elimination stage on Saturday. Off the back of winning the ESL Premiership last month, we spoke to the guys to get their thoughts on the 2 events over the Easter weekend.

You're going into a "double header" over the weekend with the UK Masters final on Friday and the Insomnia60 tournament on Saturday onwards, do you feel any pressure or prepare in a specific way for 2 tournaments in 1 weekend?

nEiLZiNHo: I don't think we really do anything different as the UK Masters Grand Final is only a single BO5 series (with a 1 map advantage) and especially this time, it's not against a team that we'll be playing again in the i60 tournament. In terms of pressure I don't think it will be a problem either, we played both at Insomnia59 and had no problems. Even with our changes since then, I don't think it will be a problem playing both so close together.

UK Masters S2 Celebrating

On the other side of Europe, Copenhagen Games will be taking place in the Danish capital with even more CS:GO action from the FM camp with our ladies team, FMESPORTS Ruby. Having joined us in November of last year, this will be the first offline event for the team (and the first for some of the players!) and with a few months of practise under their belts, they're excited to see what they can do on Danish soil!

With the groups being announced and you drawing Team Expert, Crew eSport and Exotic Gaming, what are your initial thoughts on the group?

Sasri: We're looking forward to going into the groups and making a positive start. We've played all of these teams recently in online tournaments so we have a fairly good idea of what to expect going into the games.

You mention online tournaments there which leads me nicely into the next question! This is the 1st LAN event for some of you guys, are you nervous or worried about playing and offline event for the first time?

Fanny: Not particularly. We have players that have played at a lot of events before and even though some of us haven't played, we've been to other events so we know what it's like in terms of different set ups and distractions. I can't see it being a problem, personally!

On a final note, do you have any tricks up your sleeve?
